Europa and Conference League ties to take place in March, with all first legs away
The draws for the Rounds of 16 in the Europa and Conference Leagues have just been made, with five British clubs involved, Liverpool, Rangers, West Ham and Brighton in one, and Aston Villa in the other. At this stage, teams from the same country cannot play each other.
Liverpool fans will be pleased to go the beer capital of Prague to face Sparta, Brighton head to Rome to play AS Roma and Rangers supporters will be looking forward to a trip to Lisbon for the game with Benfica.
West Ham, meanwhile, hike to the Black Forest to take on Freiburg. In the Conference League, Aston Villa have a plum tie against Ajax of Amsterdam.
Matches take place on March 7 and 14, with times to be confirmed. All British teams play their home legs second, so away games are the first midweek ones.
The Europa League final will be at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on May 22, and the Conference League final will be at AEK’s Agia Sophia Stadium in Athens on May 29.
This season will be the last in the knock-out format – all three competitions move to a league system in 2024-25.
